Red Bull has made a strategic move by hiring former Aston Martin performance director Tom McCullough as their new head of racing starting in 2027. The 50-year-old Briton is set to replace Gianpiero Lambiase, who is transitioning to McLaren as their chief racing officer by an unspecified date in 2028.

Tom McCullough is a well-respected name in Formula 1, having dedicated over a decade to the team now known as Aston Martin, during its previous identities as Force India and Racing Point. His career also includes stints with Williams and Sauber.

In January 2025, McCullough was reassigned from the F1 race team to the performance technologies division due to a restructuring. In his new role at Red Bull, he will oversee all aspects of the race team under team principal Laurent Mekies.
