Manchester United reportedly views Aston Villa manager Unai Emery as a prime candidate to replace the struggling Michael Carrick. Emery has made a significant impact at Villa Park, showcasing his managerial prowess not only at Aston Villa but also at several other clubs throughout his career.

Emery's credentials are underscored by his remarkable achievement of winning the Europa League five times, more than any other manager in history. His victories include:

• Three titles with Sevilla
• One title with Villarreal
• One title with Aston Villa last season

Additionally, he was a runner-up during his tenure at Arsenal.

According to iNews, Emery is seen as a strong candidate for the Manchester United position due to his extensive experience and impressive track record. However, questions arise regarding whether he is the right fit for a club like Manchester United, which has higher expectations than those he has previously managed.

While Emery's success has often come at clubs with limited ceilings, his sole league title win occurred during his time at Paris Saint-Germain, where dominating Ligue 1 is expected. Although Manchester United may not currently be the powerhouse they once were, the expectation remains for them to challenge for major honors, including a top-four finish and domestic competitions.

Emery's past struggles at Arsenal, during a period of transition after Arsene Wenger, raise concerns about his fit at Old Trafford. Although he has excelled at Villa, this does not necessarily prepare him for the intense challenges that await at Manchester United.
