Real Madrid has reportedly made direct contact with Manchester United as they intensify their pursuit of highly-rated academy sensation JJ Gabriel. The 16-year-old attacker has garnered interest from several top European clubs amid increasing uncertainty regarding his future at Old Trafford.

Gabriel's contract situation has become a focal point following reports of a breakdown in negotiations concerning his scholarship and long-term development pathway. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a significant update, revealing that Real Madrid is actively working to secure the teenager’s signature.

• Real Madrid has taken concrete steps by contacting Manchester United directly.
• Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich have shown interest, but their pursuits are less advanced.

Romano confirmed on X, "JJ Gabriel deal race continues as Real Madrid are pushing and already made direct contact also with Man United. Barcelona keen in the background; PSG and Bayern met his camp but not advanced so far."

The situation represents an important escalation in Real Madrid's interest, as they explore the possibility of securing a deal for Gabriel, who is regarded as one of the most exciting young attacking talents in English football. His performances at youth level have showcased his technical ability, creativity, and goal-scoring prowess.

Gabriel’s uncertain future has sparked considerable interest across Europe, particularly after he ceased attending training at Carrington due to the breakdown in scholarship negotiations. With a preference for a move to Spain for his development, Real Madrid is increasingly confident of finalizing a deal. However, Manchester United remains committed to protecting their financial rights, with FIFA training compensation regulations looming over the potential terms of his departure.
