Real Madrid has demanded the immediate resignation of La Liga president Javier Tebas following his controversial comparison of the club's management to Joseph Goebbels, the infamous Nazi propaganda chief.

In a statement, Tebas suggested that Real Madrid’s communication strategies and the operation of its in-house TV channel resemble the propaganda tactics used by Goebbels. This remark was met with outrage from Real Madrid, who labeled it as "deeply offensive" and "morally repugnant."

The club's official statement emphasized:

• The comparison is "absolutely intolerable and extraordinarily serious."
• They demand Tebas resign from both his roles as head of La Liga and vice-president of the Spanish Football Association (RFEF).

In a lengthy post on X, Tebas stated:

Real Madrid's management directs an orchestra of mouthpieces and Real Madrid TV leads the singing. Their score is always the same: select the plays that suit them, repeat the grievance, feed the suspicion, and point fingers at the enemies. That method recalls propaganda mechanisms exploited by Goebbels.

Tebas later clarified that he was comparing the techniques of propaganda, not the ideology itself. However, Real Madrid dismissed this explanation, asserting that it did not lessen the seriousness of his comments.

The club noted this incident as part of a pattern of attacks from Javier Tebas against Real Madrid, citing previous criticisms, including a recent one where he dismissed the club's claims of a refereeing conspiracy. The tension between Tebas and Real Madrid has escalated, especially following disagreements over the club's European Super League plans in 2021.
