The excitement builds for the first Old Firm derby of the season, where Rangers clash with Celtic in the Scottish League Cup quarter-final. This encounter takes place amidst contrasting fortunes in their recent campaigns, with Celtic boasting a 100% record in the league, while both teams have struggled in European competitions.

The stakes are high as the League Cup aims to crown a new champion following St Mirren's victory last season, and the pressure mounts on both managers.

Derek McInnes will lead Rangers for the first time against Celtic, riding a wave of momentum after winning four consecutive matches despite a shaky start to the season. This match marks a significant moment for McInnes, who last faced Celtic when he was in charge of Hearts, where a title slip marred their final encounter in May.

Kick-off is scheduled for 12pm BST, promising a thrilling showdown filled with rivalry and determination. Fans can expect a fiercely contested match as both teams aim to secure their place in the next round of the League Cup.
