Scrum-half Raffi Quirke has received a call-up to the England squad for their Nations Championship match against Argentina next Saturday.

Quirke, who has recently signed for Newcastle Red Bulls after his move from Sale Sharks, steps in as a replacement for the injured Alex Mitchell. Mitchell suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday's impressive 73-8 victory over Fiji in Liverpool.

At just 24 years old, Quirke has already made a mark in international rugby. He previously replaced Mitchell in this year's Six Nations squad when Mitchell was sidelined due to injury.

Highlights of Quirke's career include:

• Recognized as England's youngest scrum-half in over 90 years upon his debut in 2021
• Participation in a warm-up match for the Nations Championship against a France XV last month

With Jack van Poortvliet from Leicester and Ben Spencer from Bath also in the mix, coach Steve Borthwick has multiple options for the final Test of the summer at Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades in Santiago del Estero.
