Paris Saint-Germain has officially initiated negotiations to acquire Mika Godts from Ajax, marking a pivotal change in their attacking strategy ahead of the upcoming season. This move is poised to create a significant ripple effect throughout the summer transfer window.

Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided an exclusive update via X, confirming the active talks between PSG and Ajax regarding the 21-year-old winger. Romano noted that PSG has already engaged with Ajax to outline the deal's structure, following positive discussions with Godts himself. His update highlighted:

• PSG has approached Ajax for negotiations.
• Godts desires a move to PSG after favorable talks with Luis Campos.
• A deal is in progress.

During the past season, Godts had an impressive run in the Eredivisie, netting 17 goals and registering 15 assists, which earned him the title of Eredivisie Talent of the Year.

The aggressive pursuit of Godts by PSG suggests that Bradley Barcola’s potential transfer to Liverpool is nearing completion. Reports indicate that Barcola has expressed his unwillingness to renew his contract with PSG, favoring a move to Anfield. As he pushes for this transfer, PSG manager Luis Enrique seeks a direct replacement on the left wing to facilitate Barcola’s exit.

With Liverpool emerging as the frontrunner for Barcola’s signature and preparing an official offer, PSG’s move for Godts appears to be a strategic step in ensuring they are ready for Barcola’s anticipated departure.
