Aston Villa manager Unai Emery expressed deep frustration with the match officials following a contentious late defeat to Nottingham Forest. The match, held at Villa Park, ended with a score of 2-1 in favor of Forest.

The turning point came when James McAtee of Nottingham Forest avoided a red card after a challenge on Villa's Ian Maatsen, which resulted in Maatsen getting injured. This decision left Aston Villa playing with only 10 men in the closing stages of the match.

Emery stated, "A clear red card..." highlighting his disappointment with the VAR's failure to intervene effectively. He believed that the officials' oversight significantly impacted the outcome of the game, allowing Forest to capitalize and score the winning goal late in the match.

The defeat adds to the pressure on Aston Villa as they navigate the Premier League season, while Nottingham Forest celebrates a crucial away victory.
