This victory against Ryan Searle marks Nijman's eighth consecutive win over him, contributing to the Dutch star's rapid ascent in the sport with a total of ten PDC ranking titles in his career.

Nijman's journey through the tournament included:

• Defeating Stephen Burton, Darryl Pilgrim, Adam Gawlas, and Kai Gotthardt.
• Achieving a ton-plus average in a decisive quarter-final victory against Kevin Doets.
• Overcoming the formidable Beau Greaves in the semi-finals with checkouts of 127 and 101, winning 7-4.

In the final, six of the first eight legs were fiercely contested, with Nijman capitalizing on missed doubles from Searle to take a crucial lead. He ultimately sealed the match with a 14-darter, finishing the game 8-6 after Searle narrowly missed a chance for a 161 check-out.

This triumph makes Nijman the first player in 14 years to win six Players Championship titles in a single calendar year, a record previously held by Michael van Gerwen. He joins an elite group of players who have won seven ProTour titles in one season, including legends like Phil Taylor and Gary Anderson.
