The team kicks off their pre-season against Manchester United in Finland this Saturday at 16:00 BST. This series of games is a testament to Wrexham's elevated status following the Hollywood takeover in 2021, and Parkinson views these encounters as crucial to addressing issues from the previous season.

Last season, Wrexham finished seventh in the 2025-26 campaign, their first in the second tier since 1982. The team experienced a slow start, earning just 10 points in their first 10 games, but improved significantly by January, climbing into the top six.

Parkinson attributes the slow start to the disruption caused by last year's overhaul of the squad. He believes the current group, now more settled, shows potential for improvement. He stated, "I feel with us that we have improvement in the group because a lot of the lads came in late [last year]."

While Wrexham seeks new signings in the current transfer window, the changes are expected to be less significant than the 13 signings made last summer. Parkinson aims to instill a style of play that is aggressive and attacking, ensuring fans leave matches proud of their team's performance, win or lose.
