The PGA Tour's FedExCup Fall Series begins Thursday at the Biltmore Championship Asheville in North Carolina, marking the first Tour event in this charming city since 1942. While many top players are absent, with stars like Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm competing at the DP World Tour's BMW PGA Championship, the event still features notable names preparing for next week's Presidents Cup at Medina Country Club in Chicago.

Among the 132 players in the field, Jacob Bridgeman and Jackson Koivun represent the USA, while the International team includes Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Corey Conners, Nico Echavarria, Ryo Hisatsune, and Nick Taylor. Three assistant coaches for the Presidents Cup—Webb Simpson, Taylor Pendrith, and Camilo Villegas—are also competing.

Winning in the Fall Series grants the same benefits as a regular Tour victory, including a two-year exemption and entry into prestigious events like the Players Championship. Players ranked 101st to 125th will earn conditional status, while those in the Top 100 secure full-field event eligibility.

Notable players near the Top 100 include Tony Finau (No. 98), Billy Horschel (No. 100), and Lucas Glover (No. 101), all of whom are competing this week, with odds of +7200, +5500, and +16500 respectively.

Bridgeman, ranked 29th globally at +1850, is a standout as a captain's pick for the 2026 U.S. Presidents Cup team and secured his first career win at the Genesis Invitational. Koivun, ranked 65th and the +1250 favorite, recently won the 3M Open and boasts an impressive amateur record.

Local player J.T. Poston (+3200), winner of this year's Memorial Tournament, might have a home advantage, while Tyler Jones, a senior at Western Carolina University, is making his PGA Tour debut as a longshot at +150000.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Cliffs at Walnut Cove is a challenging par 71 course at 7,249 yards. With six PGA Tour winners in the field, the event promises to be competitive, despite the withdrawal of Justin Thomas, who will still participate in the Presidents Cup.
