Justin Thomas voiced his concerns regarding a pace of play warning during a sluggish second round at the PGA Championship held at Aronimink Golf Club. The combination of strong winds, challenging greens, and tricky shots contributed to prolonged play, with many groups taking over five and a half hours to finish.

During their round, Thomas, alongside playing partner Keegan Bradley and Cameron Young, received a warning from a rules official. The group was briefly put 'on the clock' but was removed from observation after Thomas carded a second-round 69. He expressed his disagreement with the ruling, questioning how time par could remain consistent under such difficult conditions. Thomas stated:

"What is time par? How can time par on this course be the same, when it's blowing 25 and the pins are tough?"

Both Thomas and Young ended the day at two under, while morning clubhouse leader Alex Smalley, who also faced a slow play warning, noted that it didn't significantly impact his performance, despite feeling rushed at times.

Defending champion Scottie Scheffler struggled with a one-over 71, missing six fairways and making minimal putts. He criticized the pin placements as "absurd," emphasizing that they made it challenging to score:

"There are also just some things that are out of your control... most of the pins today were, I mean, kind of absurd."

Chris Gotterup, who shot a second-round 65, acknowledged the difficulty of the course setup, stating that while it may not be unfair, it certainly affects pace of play. He noted:

"This is the hardest set of pin locations that I've seen since I've been on tour... tough to make birdies."
