Spain's World Cup hero Ferran Torres has been granted permission to skip Barcelona training to finalize his impending transfer to Paris St-Germain. The 26-year-old forward, who scored a crucial extra-time winner against Argentina, played a key role in Spain's second World Cup victory this summer.

Originally scheduled to return to training with the Catalan giants on Wednesday, Torres will instead focus on his move to PSG, which is expected to exceed £40 million. With just one year remaining on his contract at Barcelona, some supporters have expressed frustration over his public discussions about a potential exit.

During a media tour in the United States following Spain's triumph, Torres remarked, "I have a contract with Barcelona but, in football, you never know." He acknowledged the allure of PSG, saying, "Every time these teams want you it's a good thing," and emphasized the unpredictable nature of football.

PSG, who are preparing for the Super Cup final against Aston Villa on Wednesday night in Salzburg, are managed by former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique. They might also be facing player departures, with Bradley Barcola linked to a move to Liverpool.

Since joining Barcelona in 2022 after two seasons at Manchester City, Torres has made 65 appearances and scored 25 goals for the Spanish national team, highlighting his significant impact on the field.
