After suffering heavy defeats in the first two Tests at Headingley and Lord's, Pakistan has dropped seven players, including key figures like opener Imam-ul-Haq, wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, spinner Ali Usman, and seamer Khurram Shahzad.

Among the replacements, only batters Saim Ayub and Abdullah Fazal possess prior Test experience.

In addition to player changes, the Pakistan Cricket Board has dismissed head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and assistant Umar Gul, appointing white-ball coach Mike Hesson to oversee the remainder of the tour.

During the Sky Sports Cricket Podcast, Hussain expressed his frustration, stating, "It is classic 'how you don't build a team' and fans deserve a little bit better." Aaqib Javed, the PCB's director of high performance, echoed Hussain's sentiments, mentioning that drastic measures were necessary as "the world is laughing at us because we can't even compete." Javed also criticized Imam for not batting at Lord's due to a calf injury, suggesting that he should have attempted to play.

Hussain expressed disbelief over the handling of Imam's situation, remarking on the need to protect players. Michael Atherton also weighed in, highlighting the damaging long-term effects of the current management style on captain Babar Azam and the team's authority.
