A "special" first ever professional padel tournament in London has made waves, promising to be bigger and better in 2027. According to Premier Padel co-chief executive David Serrahima, the inaugural event at Olympia in Kensington has concluded with a fourth consecutive sold-out day, attracting an estimated 20,000 spectators.

The tournament has showcased the world number one pair, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, thrilling fans and introducing many to the fast-growing sport in England. Serrahima expressed excitement about the event’s success, stating, "Coming to London was always going to be special for Premier Padel and it has been a fantastic week."

He highlighted the strong demand for top-tier padel in the UK, noting, "The fact that Olympia sold out tells us that UK fans wanted that too." The Lawn Tennis Association recently announced that participation in padel has surpassed one million, marking a significant milestone for the sport in Great Britain.

With organiser Sela committed to hosting London P1 for another 10 years, future plans are already underway. Coello, often referred to as the Carlos Alcaraz of padel, shared his thoughts on the experience, saying, "It’s been a great experience so far... you can really feel the excitement and it’s fantastic to see the sport continuing to grow in new markets."

He praised the impressive venue and atmosphere, indicating that this event could signal a bright future for padel in the UK.
