Pereira had successfully led the team to Premier League survival and a remarkable run to the Europa League semi-finals, where they faced eventual winners Aston Villa.

Oliver Glasner, who previously managed Crystal Palace, arrives at the City Ground after guiding the Eagles to two major trophies in the last two seasons, including the Europa Conference League last year and an FA Cup victory the year before. His managerial accolades also include leading Eintracht Frankfurt to their first major European trophy in over four decades with a win in the 2021-22 Europa League.
