Tyson Fury's recent statements about a potential trilogy fight with Oleksandr Usyk have been firmly rejected by Usyk's management. Negotiations for a heavyweight clash between Fury and Anthony Joshua are still underway, with a proposed date in November. Fury has suggested that Joshua is attempting to back out of their deal, intensifying the focus on Usyk as a potential alternative.

In a statement to Sky Sports News, Usyk’s manager Sergey Lapin emphasized, “Usyk is not Tyson’s back-up plan.” He further advised Fury to seek opponents through the Ready to Fight platform if he is in need of a fight, stating, “Oleksandr is always open to big challenges. But serious intentions are backed by a concrete offer, not statements in the press.”

Usyk, who vacated his three heavyweight belts in June after defeating former kickboxer Rico Verhoeven in Cairo, has not indicated any plans for retirement. Meanwhile, Fury has expressed frustration over Joshua's commitment, claiming that Joshua “would never fight the Gypsy King” and has shifted his focus to finding a new opponent.
