Heading into the 2026 season, the average franchise value has soared to $9.34 billion, marking a remarkable 31% increase from the previous year’s $7.13 billion.

Dallas Cowboys retain their status as the most valuable franchise, now worth an astounding $15.5 billion. They have held the top spot since Sportico began its rankings in 2020. Interestingly, the Cincinnati Bengals, valued at $7.4 billion, remain the least valuable team in the league, although they still rank higher than many globally recognized clubs.

This year also witnessed the largest purchase in league history, with the Seattle Seahawks being sold for a record $9.6 billion. This amount surpasses the previous record set by Josh Harris when he acquired the Washington Commanders for $6.05 billion in July 2023. Following this sale, the Seahawks improved their ranking to 12th in the league, up from 14th.
