Newcastle United is showing interest in Felix Nmecha, the midfielder from Borussia Dortmund, according to Sky Sport News. This comes as Arsenal has an informal proposal for Bruno Guimaraes, the Magpies’ captain, rejected.

Eddie Howe, Newcastle's manager, has been a long-time admirer of Nmecha, who is the younger brother of Leeds' Lukas Nmecha. Although Howe considered signing him in 2023, he opted for Sandro Tonali from AC Milan instead. Nmecha joined Dortmund from Wolfsburg and scored his first goal for the club against Newcastle during a Champions League match at St James' Park.

Nmecha's contract with Dortmund includes a hefty buy-out clause of €85m (£75.5m), extending until 2030. Newcastle aims to negotiate a lower fee, but challenges remain unless Dortmund lowers their asking price. A potential shift could occur if Tonali, valued at £100m, leaves, especially with interest from Tottenham and Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Arsenal is evaluating options for Guimaraes, who remains under contract until 2028. Newcastle is firm on not selling the 28-year-old, who has made 195 appearances and scored 31 goals since joining from Lyon in 2022 for an initial £35m.
