Qwan’tez Stiggers, a cornerback for the New York Jets, was hospitalized after collapsing during a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday. The 24-year-old briefly lost consciousness and was taken by ambulance for further examination.

According to Jets coach Aaron Glenn, Stiggers was conscious and able to communicate before being placed on a stretcher. Glenn expressed optimism about Stiggers’ recovery, stating, "He was able to talk and I want to make sure I go and see him after this, just to make sure I’m good with everything. But for the most part, he was good."

The incident occurred during special teams drills when Stiggers came to the sideline and subsequently collapsed. Glenn noted, "He actually fell out. The good thing is, he was conscious. Our guys did a hell of a job, just like most medical staffs around this league do in situations like that."

Teammates responded with concern, forming a prayer circle near the sideline. Breece Hall, a running back for the Jets, described the scene as "very sad, very emotional," emphasizing the team's support for Stiggers.

After a 10-minute stoppage for medical attention, practice resumed. Stiggers, entering his third season with the Jets after being a fifth-round draft pick in 2024, has made a significant impact with 35 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and three passes defensed in 29 games. He is also recognized as one of the Jets' top special teams players, making his health a priority for the team.
