Key selections include Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk, alongside teammates Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo. Notably absent from the squad is Jeremie Frimpong, raising eyebrows among fans.

Despite being sidelined since March due to an ankle injury, Arsenal's Jurrien Timber has made the cut, highlighting the trust Koeman places in the defender. His inclusion adds to a predominantly Premier League defensive lineup, with six of the seven defenders coming from English clubs. Other notable defenders are:

• Denzel Dumfries (Inter Milan), the only non-Premier League player in defense.
