Every year, major media outlets release lists of the best players in the NBA, often sparking outrage among fans over perceived slights. This year, as our top 100 players list was published, voters had the chance to highlight those they believe are underrated. Here are some standout players who deserve more recognition:

• Jalen Johnson, Atlanta Hawks
  Top 100 ranking: No. 30
Why he should be higher: Johnson excelled as the No. 1 option on a playoff team, earning his first All-Star selection in 2025. Despite playoff struggles against a tough Knicks defense, he shows great potential at just 25 years old.

• LaMelo Ball, Minnesota Timberwolves
  Top 100 ranking: No. 41
Why he should be higher: Ball's transformative impact was evident as the Hornets boasted the league's best offense when he played. His ability to create shots and elevate teammates’ performances makes him one of the best young creators in the game.

• James Harden, Cleveland Cavaliers
  Top 100 ranking: No. 47
Why he should be higher: Despite postseason criticisms, Harden is an 11-time All-Star with a storied career. His ranking below younger players like Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero raises eyebrows, given his accolades and experience.

• Domantas Sabonis, Sacramento Kings
  Top 100 ranking: No. 68
Why he should be higher: After missing most of the previous season due to injury, Sabonis is often overlooked. When healthy, he significantly boosts his team's performance, serving as a key offensive hub.

• Cameron Boozer, Memphis Grizzlies
  Top 100 ranking: No. 94
Why he should be higher: Known for his size and polished skills, Boozer is already making waves in preseason. Starting on opening night, he is a strong contender for Rookie of the Year and likely to outperform his ranking.

These players illustrate the depth of talent in the NBA and highlight how rankings can sometimes overlook deserving athletes.
