Napoli has officially appointed Massimiliano Allegri as their new head coach, signing him to a contract that runs until June 2029. The 58-year-old replaces Antonio Conte, who departed the Serie A club after two seasons, having led Napoli to the 2024-25 league title and a second-place finish last season.

Allegri, who was dismissed by Milan at the end of the previous season, returns to a club where he had a brief playing stint during the 1997-98 season. Napoli had been awaiting Allegri's resolution of his contract termination with Milan before finalizing his appointment.
