The British Grand Prix will continue to be a prominent fixture on the MotoGP World Championship calendar through at least 2028. This extension comes as a result of the renewed partnership between MotoGP and Silverstone, which will host the race for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.

The race made its triumphant return to Silverstone in 2010 after a 24-year absence, having previously been held at Donington Park. This year's event is scheduled for Sunday, 9 August, marking the 12th of 22 races in the 2026 calendar.

Marco Bezzecchi from Italy, currently ranked fourth in the MotoGP standings, clinched victory at Silverstone last season, adding to the excitement surrounding the event. Silverstone is not only a MotoGP venue but also hosts Formula 1 and the European Le Mans Series, with plans to return to the FIA World Endurance Championship schedule in 2027.

Stuart Pringle, CEO of Silverstone, stated, "This extension underscores our commitment to two-wheel racing," emphasizing the venue's significance in elite international racing.

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP Group, remarked, "The UK has a rich motorcycle racing heritage and remains one of the most important markets for MotoGP." He highlighted that Silverstone’s track record, featuring 11 different winners in the last 11 Grands Prix, showcases the quality, competitiveness, and unpredictability of racing at this legendary circuit.
