Before his tenure at Motherwell, the 43-year-old Dane served as an assistant at FC Copenhagen and has experience in various leagues across Denmark, Sweden, and the Faroe Islands.

Recent reports suggested that Toulouse, following the departure of head coach Carles Martínez Novell at the end of the season, had expressed interest in Askou. However, the manager remained focused on his current role, stating:

"I would much rather speak about the game, so the answer will be very short, or as short as I can give it."

He acknowledged the speculation surrounding him and his players as a positive indicator of their success, emphasizing his commitment to Motherwell.
