Rising British star Moses Itauma is set to take a significant risk in his unbeaten heavyweight career as he prepares to fight Filip Hrgovic this summer. The bout is scheduled for August 29 at London's O2 Arena, with an official announcement expected soon, including a press conference early next week.

This matchup marks Itauma's first fight since his impressive victory over American gatekeeper Jermaine Franklin in March, which propelled him into world championship contention. At just 21 years old, Itauma is stepping up to face Hrgovic, a seasoned fighter whose only loss came against Daniel Dubois for the IBF interim heavyweight title back in June 2024.

Hrgovic, now 34, showcased his prowess by defeating Dave Allen in just three rounds during his last outing in May. Following that fight, Hrgovic expressed his eagerness for competition, stating, "Moses never reached the promised land. I want to fight with anyone in the division, Moses, anyone." He emphasized his readiness, saying, "If I'm healthy - and I look like I am - no problem for me. I never run from any opponent."

In addition to this bout, there are rumors that Itauma could potentially face WBO champion Dubois if Dubois succeeds in his rematch against Fabio Wardley in the near future.
