Organizers of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics reported a remarkable sale of over four million tickets during the initial release this month, highlighting a strong demand for the Summer Games more than two years before the opening ceremony.

Registration has opened for the second ticket draw at Tickets.LA28.org, with sales set to begin in August 2026. This upcoming phase promises new inventory across all Olympic sports and offers a diverse range of price points, according to the organizing committee.

Reynold Hoover, LA28 Chief Executive Officer, expressed his enthusiasm, stating:

The response to our initial on-sale was nothing short of historic.

Key highlights from the ticket sales include:

• 95% of tickets priced under $100 sold during a presale for residents of Los Angeles and Oklahoma City.
• Approximately 500,000 tickets priced at $28 were purchased by local buyers.

Despite the excitement, some residents voiced concerns regarding high prices, additional fees, and limited availability during the presale.

The demand for tickets has proven to be global, with sales recorded in 85 countries and all 50 US states and territories. The United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, and Japan emerged as the leading international markets.

Notably, tickets for women's Olympic sessions sold at a higher rate than men's sessions, and artistic gymnastics was the fastest-selling sport overall. Additionally, nearly all tickets for soccer matches across seven venues were sold out, along with complete sellouts for flag football, lacrosse, softball, and squash—sports newly added to the LA28 program.

Fans interested in the next draw can register until 22 July. Those selected will receive email notifications and will be eligible to purchase up to 12 tickets for Olympic events, plus an additional 12 tickets for the soccer tournament, which do not count towards the general limit.
