Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven has signed a new long-term deal with the club, affirming his commitment to Spurs and their future ambitions. The Netherlands international, who joined Tottenham from Wolfsburg in 2023, initially entered a six-year agreement that extends until 2029.

Van de Ven's decision to stay was influenced by the appointment of Roberto de Zerbi as head coach in March. The 25-year-old expressed confidence in the club's direction, stating, "I've always loved Spurs, from the first day I stepped in here. His contributions have been significant; he captained the team during crucial matches last season, helping Spurs avoid relegation from the Premier League. Under his leadership, Tottenham also secured the Europa League title in 2025.

Spurs manager Roberto de Zerbi praised Van de Ven, calling him "one of the best centre-backs in Europe and an important player for us." He emphasized the importance of players like Van de Ven in building a strong future for the club.

Since his arrival, Van de Ven has made 96 appearances across all competitions and has earned 24 caps for the Netherlands, representing the nation at the recent World Cup. Despite finishing 17th in the league for two consecutive seasons, his commitment signals hope for a brighter future at Tottenham.
