Everton captain Megan Finnigan has officially signed a one-year contract extension with the Women's Super League club, marking a significant milestone in her career.

At 28 years old, Finnigan will have dedicated 20 years to Everton, including her formative years in the club's academy. Despite facing a challenging season due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, she expressed optimism about her recovery and the upcoming season.

In her own words, Finnigan stated:

"I am feeling very positive at the minute. I am glad to get this sorted, and recovery-wise I am in a good place."

She reflected on the significance of her two-decade journey with the club:

"This will be my 20th year at the club and that's special for me. Hopefully it is even more special because it is the season that I make my return."

Since making her senior debut in 2015, Finnigan has made over 200 appearances for the Blues, showcasing her commitment and skill on the pitch. Her extension not only solidifies her future with Everton but also marks a chapter of resilience and determination as she prepares for her comeback.
