Matt Richards clinched the men's 200m freestyle title on the final day of the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships in London, showcasing his talent against a field that included four Olympic gold medallists. He finished with a remarkable time of 1 minute 44.77 seconds, securing victory ahead of James Guy in second place and Duncan Scott in third.

This podium trio, along with the injured Tom Dean, had previously formed the successful quartet that won the 4x200m freestyle relay finals for Great Britain at the last two Olympics. Notably, Jack McMillan, who celebrated gold at Paris 2024 while swimming for Team GB in the relay heats, finished in fourth place.

Richards reflected on the intense atmosphere, stating, "You definitely feel the pressure and feel the anticipation - there's a certain buzz around the building on the night of the 200m free. There's a little bit of electricity and I love that atmosphere and that environment."

In other exciting events on Sunday, Angharad Evans broke her second British record of the week, winning the 100m breaststroke title with a time of 1:04.96, adding to her earlier success in the women's 200m breaststroke. "To swim a 64 has been my mission and I've just got it, so I'm super happy with that," she expressed, emphasizing the confidence boost from her performance.

Eva Okaro triumphed in the women's 50m freestyle, marking her third title, while Oliver Morgan matched that achievement in the men's 200m backstroke. Additionally, Amelie Blocksidge, just 17 years old, dominated the women's 800m freestyle, winning her third consecutive title by more than seven seconds. Callie-Ann Warrington also made headlines, breaking her national record in both the heats and final to claim gold in the mixed classification women's 50m freestyle.
