Oliver Glasner expressed his desire to restore the “sweet honey” of European football at Nottingham Forest after signing a three-year contract as the club’s fifth head coach in less than a year. His decision followed discussions with club owner Evangelos Marinakis over a seafood platter in Athens, highlighting Marinakis's ambition that matched his own.

On his first day with the squad, Glasner emphasized the potential for growth after a season in which Forest avoided relegation and reached the Europa League semi-finals. The club is also pursuing Lucas Bergvall from Tottenham as a record signing to replace Elliot Anderson, who moved to Manchester City. Glasner anticipates at least two new signings before their training camp in Portugal, including Xaver Schlager, who is close to joining on a free transfer from RB Leipzig.

Glasner acknowledged the club's efforts in securing his appointment after the dismissal of Vítor Pereira, stating that success would take time:
