Spain defender Marc Cucurella has fulfilled his promise by getting a tattoo of World Cup-winning coach Luis de la Fuente. This tribute follows Spain's triumphant victory over Argentina with a score of 1-0 in the World Cup final earlier this month.

Cucurella, who transferred to Real Madrid from Chelsea for £52m in June, showcased the tattoo—a portrait of De la Fuente holding the World Cup beside the number 26—on social media. He captioned the images and video with, "Promise kept."

After the final, De la Fuente humorously remarked on Cucurella's promise, saying, "I've already told them, 'did you make a mistake?" During the post-match news conference, he added, "I'm not so terribly ugly that they will need to put it somewhere nobody can see it. But it makes me laugh and I am proud they keep their promises."

In addition to the tattoo, Cucurella carried his wife's pyjama top as a lucky charm throughout the tournament. He also mentioned his trademark long, curly hair, which he keeps for his child to easily spot him during matches.
