Manchester United is actively pursuing Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid and Sander Berge from Fulham as part of a midfield overhaul aimed at bolstering Michael Carrick’s squad.

Following the departures of Casemiro and the injury setback of Manuel Ugarte, who is sidelined due to a knee ligament injury, United has already secured two midfielders this transfer window:

• Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £48m
• Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for £35m

Despite these additions, the club is keen on further strengthening the midfield.

Eduardo Camavinga, just 23 years old, is reportedly inclined to remain at Real Madrid. However, the Spanish club may consider selling him to accommodate Rodri. Camavinga, who has three years left on his contract and was not included in France’s World Cup squad, carries a €1bn release clause, though Real Madrid is expected to entertain offers between €50m-€60m (£42m-£51m).

On the other hand, Sander Berge, aged 28, has been on United’s radar previously and would come at a cost of around £40m. He has significant experience in the English league, having played for Sheffield United, Burnley, and now Fulham. Notably, he participated in Norway’s 2-1 World Cup quarter-final loss against England.

Additionally, United is considering other midfield options, including Alex Scott from Bournemouth and Manu Koné from Roma.
