Manchester City has reportedly made significant strides in their pursuit of Ayyoub Bouaddi, the standout teenage midfielder from the World Cup. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the club's interest in Bouaddi is intensifying, with ongoing discussions between City and Lille OSC since last month.

Lille is holding out for a price of €100 million for an immediate transfer but has indicated a willingness to negotiate. If a club agrees to loan Bouaddi back to Lille for the upcoming season, the transfer fee could be reduced.

Jacobs noted:

"Manchester City have made progress in their pursuit of Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi. Talks have been ongoing between clubs since last month. The package would drop if suitors agree to a loan-back or pre-agreement."

Bouaddi is expected to engage in discussions with Lille's president Olivier Létang now that the World Cup has concluded. Létang has expressed his desire for Bouaddi to spend an additional season with Lille, which could align with City's timeline, as they may not need the Moroccan star immediately.

As the World Cup enters its final week, transfer activity is likely to accelerate, and regardless of the outcome, Lille stands to gain significantly from Bouaddi's burgeoning reputation and talent.
