Manchester United explored the possibility of signing Nicolas Tagliafico, the Argentine defender, during the summer transfer window as they sought to bolster their full-back options. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Tagliafico’s name was brought up in discussions at the club as the transfer deadline approached, but ultimately, United opted not to pursue the deal.

Romano stated, "There was [a] kind of secret name discussed internally at Manchester United. That name was Nico Tagliafico. Tagliafico was under consideration at Manchester United. Then they decided not to proceed, so it was United’s choice not to advance anymore."

Tagliafico has proven his capabilities while playing for the Argentina national team, and many believe he could have provided valuable short-term support for Manchester United’s defensive line. However, the club continues to grapple with the need for depth in their left-back position.

Other Options: Manchester United has also been linked with Lewis Hall from Newcastle United, a player many consider a more promising long-term investment than Tagliafico.

After finishing in the top four last season, Manchester United aims to build on that success and will be keen to strengthen their squad in January to ensure competitiveness in both domestic and European competitions.
