Currently, Aston Villa has been at the forefront of the race to sign him. However, reports from former scout Bryan King indicate that Manchester City is also eyeing the Senegal international. King shared insights with Football Insider, stating:

• “Mbaye. They’re saying that Manchester City could bring him in. From what I am told, Manchester City will be favourites.”

While the prospect of joining a club like Manchester City is enticing, it raises questions about Mbaye's playing time. Competing with established stars could hinder his development. For a young player seeking regular minutes, Aston Villa or another Champions League club, albeit a tier below the super clubs, might offer a more suitable environment for growth.
