Manchester City has finalized a €100m deal with Lille to acquire Ayyoub Bouaddi, an 18-year-old midfielder who shone at the World Cup. This transfer marks City’s second major midfield signing this summer and positions Bouaddi as the third most expensive player in the club's history.

As City continues to revamp their midfield following the exits of key players such as Bernardo Silva, Rodri, and Tijjani Reijnders, Bouaddi will be a crucial addition. The agreement consists of an initial €95m, with an additional €5m in potential add-ons for the Moroccan international.

Bouaddi joins Elliot Anderson, who was signed for £116m, in the midfield overhaul. Only Anderson and Jack Grealish have commanded higher fees in City’s history.

Additionally, City might sell Nico Gonzalez to Newcastle and is exploring the possibility of a third midfield signing, with interest in Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea.

This summer, City has generated approximately £150m from player sales, including James Trafford, Nathan Ake, Rodri, and Reijnders. The total could increase with the anticipated £85m sale of Savinho to Tottenham, and the potential departure of Omar Marmoush.

Bouaddi, a former France Under-21 international, is expected to sign a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium, solidifying his place in a restructured squad.
