Islam Makhachev is set to make the first defense of his welterweight title against Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330 in Philadelphia on Saturday. In a thrilling co-main event, Mackenzie Dern will defend her strawweight belt against Gillian Robertson.

Both fighters weighed in at 170lb (12st 2lb), with Machado Garry addressing the booing crowd, stating they "should be grateful" to witness "two of the biggest fighters ever in this sport."

Makhachev, a former lightweight world champion, aims to break Anderson Silva's record of 16 wins for the longest win streak in UFC history. The 34-year-old Russian referred to Machado Garry as his "next target" during the weigh-ins, expressing his readiness to deliver a victory that will "make all people happy."

On the other hand, Machado Garry, aged 28, has achieved an impressive record of 10 wins out of 11 fights since his UFC debut in 2021, with his only loss against Shavkat Rakhmonov. Holding an overall record of 17 wins and one defeat, he seeks to become only the second fighter to defeat the pound-for-pound great Makhachev.
