Former England captain Heather Knight praised the explosive performances of openers Maia Bouchier and Sophia Dunkley as pivotal for England in their preparations for next year's Ashes against Australia. The duo's remarkable partnership of 143 runs led England to their highest ever ODI chase, securing a six-wicket victory over Ireland on Tuesday.

Bouchier stole the spotlight with a phenomenal 104 off 95 balls, marking her second ODI century and helping England reach a total of 282 with 71 balls remaining. Knight reflected on Bouchier's journey:

I remember Maia getting her first 100 a few years ago... yesterday she seemed to breeze through it. She's a crazy talented individual and when she works it out... she can be a world beater.

Knight also highlighted Dunkley's aggressive play, stating it was a match-defining partnership that came in the absence of several England regulars, including Nat Sciver-Brunt, Danni Wyatt-Hodge, and Amy Jones. The match showcased a fresh England side, with Knight expressing optimism about the young players stepping up.
