Noni Madueke showcased his potential and determination in a thrilling match against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, scoring a crucial second-half winner that secured Arsenal a vital three points in their pursuit of the Premier League title.

Despite having started just one top-flight match this season, Madueke's performance underscored why he is considered one of Mikel Arteta's key "finishers." His winning goal came in the 80th minute, a deflected shot that highlighted his ability to adapt and seize opportunities.

Madueke had previously started against Leeds, where he received praise from Arteta for his impressive play during the international break. With Christos Tzolis sidelined due to injury, Madueke stepped up, following Arteta's game plan, which emphasized offensive aggression and defensive responsibility.

Fans have been divided on Madueke since his transfer from Chelsea, having faced criticism for inconsistency and even a petition against his signing. However, since joining for £48.5 million, he has played a significant role in Arsenal's success, contributing to their first title in 22 years and reaching the Champions League final.

Last season, he recorded eight goals and four assists in 43 appearances, though questions about his finishing remain. Nonetheless, both Arteta and England manager Thomas Tuchel recognize his capabilities, especially in one-on-one situations. Arteta expressed admiration for Madueke's character and connection with teammates, noting that he is well-liked in the dressing room.

Currently, Madueke is finding his form, showing "another level of anger and conviction" that is crucial for Arsenal's campaign. Arteta emphasizes his versatility on the pitch, as Madueke continues to prove he can be a decisive player in crucial matches.
