Lukhan Salakaia-Loto has made an immediate return to the Wallabies under new coach Les Kiss, marking a significant move in Kiss's inaugural squad announcement. Salakaia-Loto, who was named in the Super Rugby Pacific team of the year, previously missed selection under former coach Joe Schmidt for both the British and Irish Lions tour and the recent Nations Championship matches.

Having recently played for the Barbarians in the UK and participated in Brisbane club rugby, Salakaia-Loto now prepares for upcoming Tests against Eddie Jones' Japan in Osaka and Townsville next month. However, competition for starting positions is fierce, with Jeremy Williams and Josh Canham having showcased their talents in the three Tests this year.

Emerging locks Miles Amatosero and Lachlan Shaw have also been retained after debuting off the bench in the last two Tests, highlighting the depth in the squad. Harry Wilson continues in the captaincy role, while French-based prop Taniela Tupou remains in the lineup.

Kiss, who conducted his first press conference since taking on the role, emphasized the lack of a grace period as the World Cup approaches next October. Notable inclusions in the squad include Isaac Henry, earning his first call-up, and Charlie Cale, who returns alongside injured stars Len Ikitau and Tom Hooper. Carter Gordon is back from injury and will vie for the No 10 jersey with Declan Meredith and Ben Donaldson.

Kiss stated, "Selection is always a challenging process... The challenge now is for everyone to roll up their sleeves and find a new level of consistency." The Wallabies aim to build on their recent form as they prepare for the upcoming international fixtures.
