The Diamond League returns to London this weekend, bringing an impressive line-up featuring home stars Josh Kerr, Keely Hodgkinson, and Dina Asher-Smith. This event, scheduled for Saturday, 18 July, promises thrilling competition as Kerr aims for the mile world record of 3:43.13, a mark that has stood since 1999.

Kerr, the former world 1500m champion and two-time Olympic medallist, seeks to make history, while Hodgkinson looks to secure her first 800m victory of the season after facing challenges, including recent training falls and a withdrawal from the 400m final at the British national championships.

Despite the withdrawal of world silver medallist Georgia Hunter-Bell due to illness, the 800m field remains competitive. Notable participants include Femke Broeders-Bol, who is transitioning from her usual 400m hurdles, and Tsige Duguma, the Olympic silver medallist.

In the sprint events, Olympic 100m champion Julien Alfred and 200m champion Gabby Thomas will clash, alongside Britain's Asher-Smith and rising star Amy Hunt. Other notable athletes like Oblique Seville, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, and Mondo Duplantis are also set to compete in what is expected to be a spectacular day in the capital.
