Liverpool’s pursuit of a right-sided attacker hits a snag as Maghnes Akliouche reportedly chooses Paris Saint-Germain as his preferred destination. Despite Liverpool’s willingness to offer AS Monaco a more lucrative deal than PSG, Akliouche's preference complicates matters.

The 24-year-old has emerged as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, thanks to his creativity, close control, and right-wing capabilities. Liverpool has already assessed the transfer's feasibility and is prepared to compete with the European champions.

However, Akliouche's desire to stay in France has given PSG the upper hand, even though they have not yet agreed on a transfer fee with Monaco. According to journalist Santi Aouna, the winger is set on joining PSG, despite Liverpool's more attractive financial package and personal terms.

PSG has been tracking the France international for months and appears to have gained his approval earlier in the summer. Their ongoing negotiations with Monaco have seen previous offers, including one around €40 million, fall short of the club's demands.

Liverpool’s financial leverage puts pressure on PSG to enhance their bid, but it does not necessarily improve the Reds' chances. Unless Akliouche alters his stance, Monaco may have to choose between accepting a lower PSG offer or retaining an unhappy player.

Sky Sports confirmed that Liverpool had approached Monaco regarding Akliouche’s availability. However, the club should reconsider their strategy; pursuing a player who is not fully committed is not advisable. Liverpool should establish a firm deadline for negotiations and redirect their efforts toward an attacker who genuinely views Anfield as their first choice.
