Liverpool is reportedly confident of securing the transfer of Bradley Barcola, the Paris Saint-Germain winger, for £100m. With Arsenal and Bayern Munich also interested, it appears Barcola is leaning towards Anfield as the ideal long-term successor to the legendary Mohamed Salah.

According to journalist Jack Rosser, Liverpool believes they are leading the race to land Barcola, especially as PSG needs to raise funds for new signings like Maghnes Akliouche and Yan Diomande. Liverpool had previously shown interest in Diomande after his impressive performances for RB Leipzig, but the 19-year-old favored a move to PSG.

In contrast, Barcola may not be a priority for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal, who focused more on Morgan Rogers, only to see him move to Chelsea. This summer has proven challenging for Arsenal, and they now risk missing out on Barcola as well.

However, Barcola might not be the ideal fit for Liverpool, as he primarily plays on the left and is right-footed, which does not directly address the need for a left-footed attacker to replace Salah on the right flank.

Despite spending significantly last season with signings like Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, Liverpool experienced a disappointing 2025/26 season, finishing 5th and failing to win a trophy. With Arne Slot sacked, new manager Andoni Iraola faces pressure to improve the squad. While Barcola is a talented player, Liverpool must continue searching for solutions, especially in defense after Ibrahima Konate's departure and the aging of Virgil van Dijk.
