Liverpool could rival Manchester United in the race for Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert, as the French international garners significant interest ahead of the 2027 transfer windows.

The 24-year-old has become one of Bournemouth’s most reliable players since his arrival from Rennes. His impressive adaptation to English football has caught the attention of several major clubs, according to TEAMtalk.

Manchester United has already pinpointed Truffert as a potential long-term solution at left-back, especially due to concerns regarding Luke Shaw’s fitness and the club’s failure to secure another specialist option this summer. However, their pursuit could face heightened competition.

Liverpool is reportedly considering a move for the Bournemouth defender, setting the stage for a potential transfer battle between the Premier League giants.

Truffert joined the Cherries in 2025 as a replacement for Milos Kerkez, who moved to Anfield. He quickly established himself in the Premier League, starting every league game last season and contributing one goal and five assists.

Bournemouth is under no pressure to sell their prized defender and is expected to demand around a £60 million fee, which would represent a significant profit on the fee paid to Rennes in 2025. Previous interest in Truffert from clubs like Aston Villa, Bayern Munich, Benfica, and AC Milan indicates that Liverpool and Manchester United might face a crowded race for his signature.

A January move could be challenging, as Bournemouth remains reluctant to part with an essential first-team player mid-season. However, next summer may present a more viable opportunity.

For Liverpool, Manchester United, and other interested parties, Truffert's age, Premier League experience, and attacking capabilities make him an appealing target. The outcome may ultimately depend on whether Bournemouth alters its stance and where the French international prefers to go.
