Liverpool's boss Andoni Iraola expressed his anger over the delayed substitutions during the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest on Saturday at Anfield. The match saw the home side level at 1-1 in the second half when Iraola aimed to introduce Ryan Gravenberch, Kostas Tsimikas, and Rio Ngumoha.

Despite the ball going out of play three times, the substitutions could not be executed due to issues with the fourth official, Tim Robinson, who struggled with the substitution board. This delay proved costly as, during the third stoppage, Nottingham Forest quickly took a throw-in, leading to a penalty after Neco Williams was fouled by Alisson.

Iraola commented on the incident, stating:

With the penalty, the situation has already finished when the contact appears, and it's not an aggressive contact. We complained about the subs. We had to wait about three minutes.

He further criticized the officiating, saying:

A professional fourth official cannot take three minutes. We had already given him the subs two or three minutes before.

The delay not only frustrated Iraola but also impacted the team's ability to respond effectively during the match, highlighting the significant role officiating can play in high-stakes encounters.
