Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez is poised to rejoin the squad for the upcoming match against Leeds United this Sunday after addressing his recent public criticism of the club's management.

Following a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, Martinez openly expressed his concerns regarding the lack of investment in the transfer window, which led to scrutiny from fans and analysts alike. In response to the backlash, he met with key figures within the club, including Wilcox and CEO Omar Berrada, along with head coach Michael Carrick, to discuss the matter.

On Friday, ahead of the Leeds trip, Carrick confirmed that the situation had been resolved, stating:

"He's released his statement and realised he made a mistake. That's enough for us to move on with. From our point of view, the acknowledgement of what's been done is enough to move on."

This indicates a willingness from both the player and the club to put the incident behind them and focus on the upcoming match.

As fans eagerly await the clash with Leeds, Martinez’s return to the squad highlights the importance of unity within the team as they aim to rebound from their recent defeat.
