Liam Rosenior has made a swift return to football management, being appointed as the new manager of Paris FC following his brief stint at Chelsea, where he was dismissed in April after less than four months in charge.

The 41-year-old coach has signed a two-year contract with the Parisian club, which includes an option for an additional season. He replaces Antoine Kombouare, as Paris FC aims to improve upon their 11th place finish in Ligue 1 last season.

Paris FC, owned by the Arnault family with Red Bull as a minority shareholder, is eager to elevate their status in French football. The club cited Rosenior's "wealth of experience at the highest level," his knack for nurturing young talent, and his commitment to "attractive and attacking football" as key reasons for his appointment.

Rosenior's managerial journey includes:

• Brighton Under-23s: Began his coaching career.
• Derby County: Served as Wayne Rooney's assistant before taking over as interim boss.
• Hull City: Led the team to 15th in the Championship during his first season and 7th in his second, though he was sacked for missing the play-offs.

Despite a promising start at Chelsea, where he succeeded Enzo Maresca in January, Rosenior's tenure ended in disappointment as the team suffered five consecutive losses without scoring a goal. Nonetheless, he remains well-regarded for his previous work at Chelsea's sister club Strasbourg, where he guided them to a seventh-place finish in 2024-25, qualifying for the Uefa Conference League with the youngest squad across Europe’s top five leagues.
