Former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior is on the verge of joining Paris FC, having received a two-year contract offer with the potential for an additional season. The 41-year-old is poised for a quick return to management following a brief tenure at Stamford Bridge, where he lasted less than four months. Appointed as Enzo Maresca's successor in January, Rosenior was dismissed in April.

Paris FC, owned by the Arnault family with a minority stake from energy drinks company Red Bull, has decided to postpone their pre-season preparations by a week while they finalize Rosenior's appointment. This comes after the club finished 11th in Ligue 1 last season under former manager Antoine Kombouare.

Rosenior previously found success in French football during an 18-month stint with Strasbourg, Chelsea's sister club under BlueCo ownership, where he also honed his French language skills. His coaching career began at Derby County and Hull City.

In the meantime, Chelsea has appointed former Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso as Rosenior's replacement, with Alonso set to start work on Wednesday, July 1. He becomes the sixth permanent manager at Stamford Bridge in just four years under BlueCo ownership.
