Despite a frustrating finish at the Austrian Grand Prix, where Hamilton dropped from third to fifth, Button believes this will not hinder Hamilton's ambitions for a record-extending 10th win at Silverstone. Button noted, "Lewis is definitely arriving with confidence. It didn't go his way in the last race, but it wasn't down to him. The package just wasn't there."

He praised Hamilton's ability to outperform his teammate Charles Leclerc, emphasizing Hamilton's tire management and pace. Button remarked, "He could make those tyres last a lot better at the start of the race. He won't be happy with the result, but he'll know he got the maximum out of it."

Button, who raced alongside Hamilton at McLaren from 2010 to 2012, highlighted Hamilton's skill in navigating Silverstone's challenging setup. "He's very good at driving a car that the setup is on the nose. You need to carry the speed through high-speed parts of the track," he stated.

Button acknowledged Russell's achievement, saying, "It's good to see George take his first win for a long time. It's a confidence boost going into the British Grand Prix."

However, Button cautioned that Kimi Antonelli remains a formidable contender, praising his consistent speed. "His speed is undeniable, but then it's the consistency... George is obviously the more experienced driver in that situation."
